Ally Durr is a passionate singer, songwriter and musical artist from Jackson, Mississippi. Her deep connection with the world of music began at a tender age as she discovered her God-given talent and gift for singing. She has been significantly groomed by her mother's deep love for music, imparting valuable lessons in her on musicianship and standing out vocally. Singing in the church choir, school ensembles and quintets has shaped her tone and agility as a performer.
During her formative years, Ally desired to learn bass and later guitar. These skills served as the cornerstone for her songwriting endeavors and the development of her distinctive, soulful sound. Her outstanding performances contributed from her background in singing in her family's gospel group and participating in high school talent showcases. Gratefully, Ally is unwavering in her commitment to infuse her music with love and harmony reviving the heart, mind and soul; All of which she strives to share across the world.
Ally's music is inspired by many musical influences and she simply enjoys being an artist. In 2020, she made her mark on the music scene with the release of her debut single, "What You Livin' For" to wide acclaim and has enjoyed similar success with other releases, including "Keep Fighting" to the soundtrack film "I'm From You" and latest singles "Listen" and "Don't Let it Go" released in 2023. This milestone opened doors for her to perform on radio shows, social and religious events and as a headline performer.
Some of her greatest accomplishments were performing at Jackson Indie Music Week (2023), Night of Culture 60th Anniversary of Freedom Summer at Mississippi Civil Rights Museum, being awarded by the Daughters of Deborah Inc. as a 2024 Emerging Leader and recognized as a spotlight artist from the Mississippi Arts Commission. She was selected to collaborate with MS Votes-Arts and Activism fellowship program as an artist in residence learning political history and motivating audiences to progress through music and storytelling.
In May 2024, she made her debut in one of the most popular broadway musicals, "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical" as a singer and actor of the girl group, Shirelles. She performed with the ensemble and as an Uptown solo singer. Above all, Ally hopes to bless the world with her authenticity, incredible talent and undeniable musical gifts.
